Dear Swheat Scoop,
One of my three cats is evidently allergic to some ingredient in clay clumping litter. One day he started vomiting to the point that he could not keep any food down. This condition could be managed only with prednisone (and he would still vomit on occasion). A barium X-ray gave no evidence of intestinal blockage, and a biopsy of the stomach lining showed numerous lesions but no clue as to the cause. We resigned ourselves to living with the problem and had done so for over a year when suddenly the symptoms got signicantly worse. I realized that I had just changed brands of clay clumping litter. This naturally made me suspicious that the litter might be the problem. I switched to Swheat Scoop and now my kitty is off the prednisone and is no longer vomiting!
