why wheat works
The science is simple, we use wheat enzymes and starches to enhance clumping and make smelly pet odors virtually disappear. But that’s not all. Our ingredients are biodegradable and made of renewable resources so everything we take from the earth can go right back into the ground. Farmer-owned and farmer-grown, you could say we know a little something about what makes sWheat Scoop Mother Nature’s cat litter.
celebrating 25 years as Mother Nature's cat litter
A local Minnesota family, looking for an alternative to clay, created the first all-natural cat litter in the market, sWheat Scoop. We’re proud to be celebrating 25 years later as Mother Nature’s cat litter, home grown in the land of 10,000 lakes. sWheat Scoop has been dedicated to providing litter that is better for cats, people and the planet since 1994. A key secret to sWheat Scoop’s success has been providing pet parents with products that give their cats the best life possible.
With sWheat Scoop, pet parents don’t have to worry about the harmful effects that clay and silica dust can have on their cat and in their home! We have combined this knowledge with the vision of our family farmer owners to create products that use sustainable ingredients that are kind to Mother Nature. We look forward to celebrating with cat lovers everywhere with the launch of new and innovative products to mark this important milestone.
from the field
traditional cat litter vs. sWheat Scoop
Let’s get scientific for a minute here. Traditional litter is made of clay that is processed through strip mining. This involves the removal of trees, shrubs, and wildlife to access buried deposits of the profitable materials underneath. So, you guessed it, strip mining is incredibly disruptive to plant and animal life in the area, and pollution issues are prevalent. Also, traditional litter contains hazardous chemicals like sodium bentonite and crystalline silica. Conversely, sWheat Scoop is farmer grown and made from renewable resources. No planet harmed in the making of this cat litter. It’s that simple.
